Dr. Karin Covi ('81) has generously agreed to match all gifts, dollar-for-dollar up to $25,000, to The Southern Fund during our 1892-minute challenge.
It is humbling to participate in this year's Southern Giving Day with a matching challenge gift. As a proud Southern alumni, I know there were people before me that gave to impact my educational journey. Today, I give of the blessings God bestows; I hope this challenge gift will encourage fellow alumni to join the journey in giving back to Southern every year.
I believe Southern alumni help to make the world a better place and someday those who are current students will go out and do the same. This is why I and other partners initiated the Pay It Forward Endowed Scholarship. I want students to experience the blessing of a Seventh-day Adventist higher education and to understand what makes their journey possible. I invite recipients of the endowment to make their own contributions upon graduation ensuring this endowment continues to grow and support many more students in future.
Our first gifts may be small, but I believe that collectively we impact the whole. Today as we celebrate Southern's founding year-1892-I hope you will take time to give back with a gift of your own at any size. As alumni our gifts make a profound difference and they encourage others to also give. I will be matching dollar-for-dollar all gifts to The Southern Fund, up to $25,000. Together we can maximize our impact on the Southern Experience for today's students!
Gifts to The Southern Fund ensure that hardworking students have the resources and opportunities they need to earn a degree at Southern Adventist University so that they can go on to serve their local communities and the world at large.
The Southern Fund is the most popular fund through which our supporters give back and impacts all areas of the university - including scholarships, academics, missions, and more. These gifts also help make it possible for the university to offer tuition to every student 16% below the true cost to attend Southern.
Southern Adventist University was built on the generosity of alumni, parents, employees, and friends. Each year, thousands build upon this strong foundation with their financial support. These gifts are essential to Southern's continued momentum.
